JAY DELACY
(THE BLUEJAY)

come inside and be afraid
OF THIS IMPRESSIVE MESS I'VE MADE
- VAMPIRE STRENGTHS; Super strength, super speed, high levels of agility and supernatural stamina, as well as being flexible and light on his feet. He also has the enhanced senses that all vampire's have, which have been well honed through his training and experience.
- PRETTY BOY LOOKS; Well, what do you know, this guys a looker and he knows how to use that little fact to get what he wants. Seduction, perhaps, or lulling you all into a false sense of security, or perhaps just to have a little bit of fun now and again. Whatever he does with them though, it doesn’t appear just from looking at him that this guy is actually two centuries old and can rip your throat out before you’ve noticed he’s a bad guy.
- POWERFUL; He’s over two hundred years old and has experience, so yes, he’s going to be powerful. His sudden mood changes also lend him quite a large element of surprise (as even he can’t really tell when that’s going to happen, or care), and in a dark mood he’s stronger than ever. But more than that is the fact that he doesn’t have anywhere to stop at, no line drawn over which he is not to cross. He doesn’t give a damn about what might happen after.
- BALLS; He isn’t afraid of saying what he thinks or doing what he wants, even if he knows he’s going to get caught and punished. And if he does get punished, he’ll rant his way through that, go away and heal, then get right back out there and piss a few more people off. He doesn’t give a damn what anyone thinks of him and doesn’t give a damn about fitting in with the so called vampire ‘norms’.
- OBSERVANT; Despite what it seems, this guy actually sees what’s going on. The hidden meaning behind words, if you will, or something going on behind the actions of a fighter. Small hints which say what someone’s really thinking are clear to him and he will use that knowledge to his advantage.
- MODERN; He refuses to be one of those vampires who keeps behind the times. The modern world is rocking, baby, in his opinion, and he is most definitely rolling along with it. Why stick with the old ways when there is so much more potential in the new ones?
- EXPERT IN CAUSING PHYSIOLOGICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAUMA; He likes pain, both for himself, and also dishing it out to other people. He loves to play with his food, making their death’s into an art form, and he can do it well. But his favourite way is by playing the long game with certain victims, driving them to the brink of insanity and then killing them. It’s fun.
WEAKNESSES
- VAMPIRE WEAKNESSES; Holy water, holy (Christian holy) items, allergy to sunlight, death by stake through the heart or decapitation...the usual vampire weaknesses.
- EMOTIONAL; This is a vampire ruled by his emotions, rather like a petulant child. He can go from calm and serene one moment to angry and insane the next. As a human, he would have been diagnosed as being bi-polar (if that was heard about when he was human, which it wasn’t) and apparently, vampirism isn’t a cure for that.
- POWER HUNGRY; He loves his Sire, of course he does, but that doesn’t mean he wants to listen to him and follow his orders. Blue Jay wants to be the guy in control, and will probably keep trying to come up with ways to make that a reality.
- EASILY DISTRACTED; His attention span is incredibly short, like that of a child. Anything and anyone can distract his attention from anything else, which he also finds incredibly irritating. But it can also be rather fun, especially if he’s been distracted by pretty people.
- RULE BREAKER; If he hears of a rule he will go out of his way to avoid it, heedless of any threatened punishment. Perhaps because he still is, basically, a child at heart who is insisting on staying that way, but he can’t resist the temptation.
- PRETTY THINGS; Perhaps his nickname would have been better as ‘The Magpie’, because this guy is attracted to anything which shines. Material items, clothing, jewelery, people, he collects them. Keeps them to himself to be treasured (though, in the case of people he usually stalks them, drives them crazy and then kills them).

I CAN FEEL THEM IN MY MIND
- Bluejay’s – the birds. He actually got his name from taking the time to decorate his victims with the bird’s corpses, but he likes them alive as well.
- Pain – Both inflicting it and receiving it, it’s a major turn on.
- Rules – Or, at least, purposefully going out of his way to break them.
- His family – he likes the company.
- France – He keeps being drawn back to the place he lived in as a human.
- Sex – Vampire, so obviously.
- Power – The feeling of being in control, over what it doesn’t matter, but he loves it.
- Human arousal – he likes both the smell and the taste of it in the blood, much more than fear.
- Mind Games – playing them with others and steadily driving them to insanity. The power of that is intoxicating.
- Risks – the thrill of beating the odds is wonderful, but really, a fight is no fun unless he has a chance of dying. It’s why, really, he’ll only bother to fight Slayers.
DISLIKES
- Rules – The having to follow them aspect.
- Vampire Lore – It’s boring.
- Vampire Legends – The way that people expect him to sleep in coffins or turn into bats, it’s laughable.
- Magic – It makes him feel rather queasy being anywhere near it.
- Cats – Filthy creatures, killing his birds.
- Being alone
- Being ignored – which is the most common punishment for him now, apparently.
- Losing – It might be an underestimate to say that when he loses he gets a tad obsessed over it.
- Being overshadowed – He’s over two hundred years old and still sometimes treated like a fledge. He’d really like to just, y’know...be the one in charge. That would be fun.

WHO SAID I'VE LOST MY MIND
Born in 17th Century France, Jean-Yves Alastair DeLacy grew up in something resembling the French aristocracy. Surrounded by pretty things and pampered by his parents and servants, Jean-Yves didn’t really have any excuse to want for anything as a child. But it soon became apparent, to his parents, that he did. Perhaps some would have called him spoilt, for his emotions would flicker drastically if he did not get what he wanted. But as he grew older, the changes in his emotional state began to occur more and more frequently. If he had been born in a time of modern medicine, Jean-Yves would have been diagnosed with severe Bi-Polar disorder from an early age , but seeing as this was the courts of 17th Century France (where the most common medicine was to have your blood taken out of you via a leech), nothing such as that diagnosis was ever mentioned. Jean-Yves and his behaviour swings just became normal, despite the fact that he could change from being sweet and charming to being aggressive, angry and destructive. The young Jean-Yves also had a perhaps unhealthy fascination with birds, in particular the small creatures known as bluejays. He’d alternate between caring for them and ripping them apart depending on which mood he flickered into.
The behaviour swings might have been what made the boy catch the eye of a vampire however (that or his young, pretty boy looks) because he did gather the attention of the vampire [ian somerland]. Turned at the age of Nineteen, Jean-Yves was told that he had been granted eternal beauty and the chance to do however much destruction he wished for. Which he did do with a great deal of abundance, for joining the ranks of the undead with his Sire and his Sire’s mate did not disminish his mood swings at all, favouring rather to enhance them. From an early age (as a vampire) he showed no respect or ability to follow the rules, preferring to go out of his way to break them, but was not disposed of – he provided a source of entertainment, perhaps. That and a good bed fellow. The name Jean-Yves was quickly discarded for being too much of a mouthful, and he was christened instead with the shorterned version of Jay. Due to his fascination with the birds, and the way he would often carve designs of them into his victims flesh and then decorate them with feathers and bones, he was nicknames The Bluejay by other vampires (something his Sire often sneered upon, seeing as it didn’t inflict fear at all – but Jay said that the hope it brought tasted so much sweeter when it was lost).
As a vampire, he soon established himself as being a trouble maker, and one who preferred to focus on single victims at a time rather than revelling in giant massacres. Stalking victims was his favourite hobby, especially the pretty ones, and he’d go out of his way to steadily drive them to the brink of insanity using psychological torture before extending their death’s using physiological torture. His destructive capabilities translated over into this hobby by the fact that he would usually choose a victim who would definitely be missed – and leave the body on display with any amount of decorations. Sometimes he could manage to throw a whole layer of society into disarray. His fancy for ignoring the rules of taking victims who wouldn’t be noticed did cause his family to have to leave towns a lot more than once, but to him it was all a game. It is still all a game.
His manner differed slightly when he first came up against a Slayer. For starters, she had been an ugly little thing and not worth his time to ruin her life at all, plus somehow he could apparently tell that she already thought her life was ruined. The fight between them was exhilarating, for him, even though despite appearances he was never a creature for long drawn out battles. But better than that was the taste of her blood – second only to Sire’s blood in his opinion. Once she was dead he assured himself that he would taste it again. And he did, this time back in France, where he’d slipped away from his family for a while upon hearing of a Slayer in that area – determined that it would be him and not his Sire who got to her first. His Sire would have wanted to fight her and draw it out – Jay only wanted the taste of her blood again and the Power that feeling brought to him. And he did find the girl and drain her, after only a short skirmish. Was he hadn’t been expecting was for the girl to have not of the fighting abilities, and for the boy that was with her to have them instead. He drained the girl in front of the boy anyway, before turning to dispose of him filled with the power of his sister. Beating him down was a fun way to pass his time...even if he did just chuck him into a river afterwards before wandering off to find someone else once more. It was not long after that when the family packed up and left France (this time for someone that was in no way Jay’s fault), and moved up North to London.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT Well...an antagonist. Seeing Alexandre again might inspire him to start up one of his Stalker games again, perhaps. But that might happen anyway depending on who catches his eye, though one of his little obsessions might turn into more than that, for him. He’ll also probably be the most obvious of the Vampires and won’t be afraid to taunt anyone else with what he can do. But other than that...well, he’s a bad boy and will most likely be an enemy of everyone other than his family...though perhaps even them if he actually does manage to overpower his Sire.
